Mike's Birthday

Mike and I are 6 years and exactly one month apart in age.  To celebrate his birthday this year, we headed up to Lake Tahoe.  He chose two golf courses to play:  Gray's Crossing, which I lasted for about 13 holes and Northstar.  I chose to read a book while he played Northstar.  I love to read so I didn't mind a bit!
We stayed at a cute little family-owned and operated motel in South Tahoe called The Alder Inn.  A young Texan couple run it with their three young kids.  When we arrived the mom was running around cleaning rooms, the little girls were cleaning the swimming pool, and the young boy was blowing leaves off the parking lot.  The dad showed us around and checked us in.  I liked the place and it was great for the price.

The night before we left for Tahoe, we left Amber with Mike's parents and they had a birthday cake waiting for him.  Awesome!  We lost more money than we wanted to playing roulette and slot machines....came away with not a penny back.  Oh well, we shouldn't be gambling anyway!  It's the best way to lose your hard earned money...

To cap off Mike's birthday, we met my parents and my Uncle David and Aunt Becky in Los Banos for lunch.  David's birthday is also in August so we had a shared birthday lunch.  We loved seeing all of them and they brought cupcakes!  Awesome!  Thanks to everyone who wished Mike a happy birthday---next year is the Big 4-0!!!
