Robin's Nest: Our 5th Anniversary in San Diego

Well, I didn't take my camera to the concert because I thought it wasn't allowed, but that is BRAD PAISLEY!!! We saw him on our 5th anniversary, September 17th in San Diego at the Cricket Ampitheatre. It was SO much fun. The weather was perfect, and he gives a great concert. Justin Moore and Darius Rucker opened for him. This was taken while he went out behind where we were sitting to give the "cheap seats" a little better view. So nice :-)

Once we landed in San Diego, we drove over to Balboa Park. This beautiful building was near Prado, a restaurant we at in the center of the park. We didn't realize that Balboa Park has many museums and gardens. It's definitely a place to explore later when we have more time.

There was an automobile museum in Balboa Park that we visited that afternoon. The collection wasn't as big as the one in Reno, but they had a few things Mike liked to see. For some reason, they had lots of Datsuns...????

On Saturday, we headed over to a really neat community called Liberty Station. It used to be (or still may be) a military base or something. Tons and tons of military-style buildings that are now businesses and recreation spots. This picture was taken near their par 3, 9-hole golf course called Sail Ho! which Mike played early Sunday morning.

This was an amazingly fun restaurant at Liberty Station called Corvette Diner. They have a few rooms sectioned off for themes. This must've been the 60s section, it was all peace, love, and psychadelic. We just came for milshakes and french fries.

The car parked in front of the lobby at Corvette Diner. The hostesses wore polka-dotted poodle skirts, they were adorable! Most of the place is 50's style. There is a DJ that plays music from that era and there is also a game area with air hockey, ski ball, and a lot of fun games that require tokens.

We had our anniversary dinner at Humphrey's by the bay. The flash didn't go off so it's kind of blurry.

This is in front of our B&B which was called Hillcrest House. We stayed in an adjacent cottage in the back. We really liked it there. Good place to stay!

On Sunday, we stopped by Old Town for lunch while we killed time until we left for the airport. What a delightful place! This is a stage inside a little area called Fiesta de Reyes. They have GREAT food here and lots of really cool shops. You feel like you are in Mexico.

One of the naval ships at the Embarcadero. We didn't know it was Fleet Week, so they had an area with free family stuff to do. You could also go on a lot of the ships, too. Maybe next time!
